“Wine grape” farmers want their best fruit in the hands of the top winemakers hoping that great wines will result from their year-long effort in the vineyards. Over the course of our history, it appears we have proven that the some of Sonoma County’s finest grapes deserve a home here at Stryker Sonoma. This Zinfandel was assembled from Alegria Vineyard, who’s owners Bill and Betsy Nachbauer define the word ‘meticulous precision’ when it comes to their farming practice.
On the nose, old vine fruit shines through with complex flavors of cherries, black plums, and licorice. The palate is rich and concentrated and is nicely framed with a hint of sweet toasty oak. Although this wine is big-bodied, the smooth tannins make a soft, balanced and fabulous finish!
Wonderful alone, or with grilled vegetables, chicken or ribs.
