Recently awarded a silver medal in the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition! The fruit for this wine was sourced from Ash Creek Vineyards, which is located at the northern end of Alexander Valley atop Pine Mountain, at an elevation of 2100’.
This is the highest elevation Zinfandel Vineyard in Sonoma County. The soil is quite shallow and turns into crushed red rock at 1 1/2 feet. This is an inhospitable location to grow wine grapes and therefore stress the vines naturally which results in fabulous age worthy wines.
Darkly colored, the wine greets you with aromas of blueberry, white pepper and dried cranberries. It is a full-bodied Zin that is nicely balanced with its fruity core and firm acidity. Enjoy no through 2009.
