2004 "OZ" Zinfandel; Alexander Valley
Silver Medal, 2007 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition

Recently awarded a silver medal in the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition! In the heart of Alexander Valley, and clearly visible from the Stryker Sonoma tasting room, sits one of the valley’s jewels. This jewel is a small zinfandel vineyard that was originally planted in 1896. The plot is farmed by our good friends and neighbors, the Osborn’s. Old vineyards such as this, yield very little fruit and farming them makes little sense from a financial standpoint, rather it is an emotional decision by passionate people with a strong sense of history and a desire to share the fruits of their labor.

A full bodied Zinfandel that is silky smooth and rich in flavor. Opens with aromas of spices, vanillin with hints of crème brulee and cigar box. Flavors of dark cherry, ripe raspberry and thick jammy plums highlighted by silky tannins that leave you wanting more. Enjoy now through 2009.
